ORLANDO WEDDING FLOWERS: WINTER WEDDINGS

Orlando Wedding Flowers

When planning a wedding, no matter what the season, it is important to plan early, and ordering the flowers well in advance of the wedding is a must. You may think that those winter flowers will be available at the last minute, and they may be, but waiting until the last minute may mean that the choice of winter flowers will be limited, or even that those winter flowers are not available. Planning a wedding can already be a stressful experience; waiting until the last minute to order your winter flowers will only cause undue stress.

Flowers will always be considered integrate part of a wedding celebration, regardless of the season that hosts this special event. So, if you have your wedding day settled for the season of winter, then you should see to it, to have the wedding flowers for winter wedding selected in due time. There is no need to be concerned thinking that through winter time, flowers are more expensive, as there are not that many blooming for the cold season. It is quite a known fact that flowers not blooming in the specific season are generally more expensive. In this case you should pick up the ones that are available all the year round inside the florists’ shops as they can have the same price tag in any season you will celebrate your wedding day.

Bringing the outdoors inside is a classic way to achieve a themed winter wedding. Some ambitious brides have incorporated actual ice sculptures into their winter wedding centerpieces…but there are some pretty stunning alternatives that will achieve the same effect. Consider beautiful snow globes at the base of your floral arrangements filled with glittery, sparking winter scenes surrounded by snowflake-shaped crystal, glass or silver.

Another popular option is birch branches, with their gentle, twisting design and natural winter-white hue. Up-lighting at the base will further accentuate their beauty and individuality. They create a lovely visual impact and when paired with some lovely drops of crystal and either tapered ivory candles or sparkling white lights reflect a stunning backdrop for your special day.

Centerpieces for winter wedding color schemes are usually the soft whites with splashes of cobalt blue, deep red or silver. Examples could include decorating the base of a winter flower centerpiece with etched, clear or varying shades of pearly blue Christmas ornaments in a delicate mound, or using the deep red of cranberries in the clear vase of your arrangement. Silver accents can come from a range of textures and shapes…such as tinsel, silver charms or accented in the vase itself.

FALL WEDDING IDEAS

If you imagined a fall wedding with no choices for a bouquet beyond carrying a pot of bright yellow chrysanthemums down the aisle, you will be pleased to find the many varieties of elegant fall wedding flowers- that don’t come in flower pots. Flowers with warm autumn colors including shades of wine, cranberry, deep yellows and oranges are often available without special ordering. And even if you are looking to use pink, peach, apricots or lavenders, there are several varieties of fall wedding flowers to choose from.

Popular Varieties of Fall Wedding Flowers

Calla lilies have grown in popularity with their many color and size varieties including rusty oranges and dark reds. Calla lilies have a mini version that are a frequent accent flower to bouquets or can be pulled together in a modern and creative looking bouquet with its unique cone-like shape. The larger blossom variety of this flower tied with a coordinating satin or tulle ribbon can make an excellent single flower bouquet for your bridesmaids.

Bright, lipstick red roses are a traditional favorite but by selecting different tones of red such as deep red roses or black beauty roses, your fall wedding flowers carry the autumn theme a little truer to its palette. If you know you will be going down the red path, ask your florist to have some live rose samples in various shades of red ahead of time so that you can get an up close impression of the color options. The dark red fall wedding flowers can capture the warmth of autumn and offer the classic elegance of a rose.

Colorful Fall Wedding Flowers

Gerber daisies, lilies and hydrangeas are colorful, cost efficient fall wedding flowers. These blossoms come in a wide assortment of colors and bloom sizes. Gerber daisies have a fun and simple personality and have some of the boldest, natural colors to choose from. Lilies are often thought of as white, springy flowers but there are many elegant fall varieties in deep wines and yellows. Lilies also have blossoms in large and mini versions that can work for any bouquet. Hydrangeas are typically large, colorful blooms with dozens of petals on every blossom that can be great for the flower girl’s basket.

Sunflowers in bloom are the sure sign that summer is coming to an end. These warm, bright yellow and orange hued sunflowers have giant varieties great for decorative arrangements and smaller, elegant versions that are great focal pieces to your bouquet.

Autumn Whites

Fall wedding flowers don’t have to be full of bright or deep colors. All white bouquets with Bianca white roses, white Gerber daisies and ivory calla lilies are meant for a bride’s bouquet. Gardenia’s are often fragile and can be pricey but are very classic wedding flowers. And while typically thought of for spring, white delphiniums, peonies and sweet peas can be excellent choices as well.

When meeting with your florist you should try to have your color palette in mind so that you don’t let the type of flower you want and the colors available decide your entire wedding theme. If you are selecting fall wedding flowers, there are many varieties, styles and colors to choose from whether you want bright, classic or elegant arrangements.

Helpful hints and tips for a summer wedding:

The best flowers for a summer wedding are the flowers you want. If you want roses, then roses are the best flowers for a summer wedding. If you want chrysanthemums, then that is best. Of course, if you do not know what you want, then consider the following options, as they are all great for summer weddings:

1. Roses. Roses are a traditional wedding flower. Because roses have a number of colors, you can choose roses that match your choice of wedding colors. You can look at the meaning of the different colors, and choose the ones that exemplify your feelings for your future spouse, and the feelings about your wedding day. Roses also go well with other flowers, which means you can use roses for the main flowers of your wedding, and supplement with some of the cheaper flowers that are in season.

2. Lilies are a popular summer wedding flower, and for good reason. They are beautiful, unique, and the ideal flower for a white wedding. They smell great, and come in a variety of types and sizes, offering large blooms, and visually engaging pieces. They look great in a bouquet or as part of an arrangement used for decorating. You can get calla lilies, which are some of the more popular, or star gazers which are some of the best known lily type. One word of caution if you use lilies in your bouquet is that you want to be careful not to get pollen on your dress, shirt, or tux. It is a pain to clean out, and nearly impossible without special cleaning, which can’t be done on the day of, which means that it would be stained all day if you are not careful.

3. Tulips. Tulips are a great flower for summer weddings. They are hard to find during the winter months, which make them an ideal flower for the summer. In addition, they come in a wide variety of colors. This is perfect because it means that you will be able to choose a flower the color of your wedding colors. Tulips make a beautiful centerpiece, but they are usually too fragile for the bridal bouquet or boutonniere.

4. Gerber daisies are some of the most popular flowers for summer weddings. They come in a beautiful assortment of summer colors. They are well shaped, and are sturdy flowers, which means that they will work perfectly for a bridal bouquet. They are perfectly rounded flowers, and look great with a variety of other flowers, so are a fun addition, or make a great staple flower for your wedding.

When choosing your summer wedding flowers look at your budget, look at what colors you have chosen for your wedding, and then look at what type of flowers you can get that fit both your budget and your personal style choice.
